5 Most Expensive Neighborhoods in Philadelphia

Luxury, history, and beauty comprise these five Philly neighborhoods.

The city of Philadelphia is made up of many different neighborhoods that make the city so unique. Each one is special in their own way, but there are a few in particular that are home to the city’s most expensive real estate and are some of the most sought after areas to live in in the city. Let’s take a look at the city’s wealthiest neighborhoods!

1. Fitler Square

Posh, exclusive and reclusive, this pocket of Philadelphia is gorgeous. It is one of Philadelphia's most expensive places to reside and is also home to some of Philadelphia's most prestigious private schools. Consisting of brownstones and classic Philadelphia row homes along tree-lined streets, Fitler Square is tucked away along the Schuylkill River, just west of Rittenhouse Square, this sleepy neighborhood may not have the hustle and bustle as the majority of the neighborhoods in Philly but the residents wouldn't have it any other way.

Located in the Northwest section of Philly, it has easy access to Center City while maintaining that suburban feel. Germantown Avenue is lined with antiques shops, art galleries, tearooms and farmers' markets. Here you’ll find diverse housing options with modest rowhomes, 19th century farmhouses and stone mansions.

What was once labeled as upcoming less than a decade ago, has arrived. Graduate Hospital has an exciting commercial strip and the residential vibe here is pretty established. Although popular bars and restaurants are located here, this area doesn't see as much traffic as other comparable parts of the city which makes it ideal for homeowners looking for a relaxing atmosphere to retreat to at the end of a long day.
