See How Much It Costs a Single Person to Live in Each of the 15 Biggest Cities in the U.S

Ever since we become adults one of the biggest buzz phrases has been “cost of living.”  We determine a lot by the cost of living factor.  From job opportunities, to spending habits and even where we live.  It’s no secret that the cost of living will only continue to rise and with cities becoming increasingly more expenses due to business development and gentrification, where do the numbers stand today?  Well in case you were wondering The Economic Policy Institute recently released figures that calculated the cost of living in the 15 biggest cities of America.  According to their website the cost was determined by, “The Family Budget Calculator takes into account geographic differences in cost of living and factors in a broader range of expenses—including housing, food, transportation, child care, health care, and other basic necessities. Improving on previous iterations, the calculator contains detailed local-level estimates on such costs as food and transportation, where only state or national data were previously available. In order to keep the budgets modest, the calculator notably does not include many expenses associated with a middle-class lifestyle, such as paying off student loans or saving for college or retirement.”
