The Queen Village Neighborhood Association is Looking for New Board Members
If happen to live in Queen Village and are looking to make a difference in your community then you may want to answer the call for new board members. The Queen Village Neighborhood Association (QVNA) recently announced that their board.
The board itself is comprised five officers and eight board members, all of whom serve two-year terms. The terms of the eight Board positions are staggered, with four Board members elected every year.
To be eligible to run for the Board, you must be a resident of Queen Village and have attended and signed in at any two QVNA-sponsored meetings. Your personal skills and interests, a commitment to work with others, and your enthusiasm–it’s all part of the mix of what contributes to a well-functioning board. QVNA cannot accomplish its mission without a board whose members work together, and who think in both the short and long term.
If you are interested and eligible – and can commit to the first Thursday of every month (except July and August) for Board Meetings, submit a photograph and 200 word statement about yourself and why you want to run to info@qvna.org. The last day to submit a nomination is October 20th and will be published as received on our website. The election will take place at the General Meeting on November 17, 2016 at 7pm.
Four At-Large positions are up for election this November. More information about the roles and responsibilities of each position may be found in the QVNA By-Laws.
