The Vibe

girard

It’s almost hard to imagine that this place was once desolate in terms of business. That’s right, Fishtown was a run-of-the-mill working class neighborhood with little frills and absolutely no thrills. Fast forward about a decade and words like young, hip and cool are more often than not the adjectives used to describe this thriving neighborhood. Whether young professional, hipster or the average working class Joe, this is a place where Philly millennials gravitate towards. With an array of businesses and services there is literally something for everyone here. Construction here is booming and so is the entrepreneurial spirit. Houses can’t go up fast enough and the residents enjoy the luxury of new businesses opening up in just about every crevice. Overall residents and visitors alike can enjoy a laid back community with plenty to do. From top-notch dining options to some of the best drinking spots in town, Fishtown is the perfect microcosm of the new age Philadelphia.[/fusion_text][/one_full][separator style_type=”single” top_margin=”” bottom_margin=”” sep_color=”#000000″ border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” class=”” id=””][one_full last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_text]

The Perks

johnnybrendas

If living in a vibrant neighborhood is a perk than Fishtown should be on top of your short list of places to live. Heck folks from all over the city flock to the restaurants and bars here giving Fishtown a high energy atmosphere. What gives this place even more appeal is its affordability. Only minutes from Northern Liberties, Fishtown offers essentially the same perks and general location at a lower cost per sq. ft. Aside from the abundance of restaurants, bars and shops Fishtown’s location is prime as well. With a newly renovated trolley system, proximity to the eL, and revamped highway system for easier access to 95 and Aramingo Avenue, E. Girard used to be an area where few ventured into and many U-turns were made. Now it’s a thriving business corridor with some of the top dining and entertainment destinations in Philly.

The Food & Drink Scene

Although many restaurants were name dropped in our previous reasons, the food selection in and around E. Girard is some of the best in the city. Even mega mogul/restaurateur Stephen Starr has pumped money in this bustling section of Fishtown.   Whether it’s BBQ from Fette Sau, hardy meals from interstate Drafthouse, pho from Stock or juicy burgers from Sketch Burger,  the food scene here is thriving.  You can literally find any type of cuisine within walking distance.[/fusion_text][/one_full]
