The Philadelphia Phillies have tapped into the ever-expanding electronic dance music market [also known as EDM]. In conjunction with their independence day weekend celebrations, Dutch DJs W&W will perform a 90 minute post-game set next Friday, July 5th. All ticket holders will be invited to Ashburn Alley to attend, after the Phillies & Braves wrap up. A first for Major League Baseball, Phillies’ Director of Marketing & Special Events, Michael Harris, aims to fuse the passionate fan bases of dance music & sports.

Harris continues that Phillies’ Marketing desires to “create something for fans after the game is over,” since the ballpark has become a nightlife destination, and place to go out, for locals. The “festival crowd” appeal of EDM caught the Phillies’ attention. W&W’s management “Red Light” (Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Tiesto) immediately hopped on the opportunity. Local venue, Soundgarden Hall, will be assisting production and promotions for the event next weekend. To purchase tickets for this event, head to the Philadelphia Phillies’ ticketing page.
