Whether buying or selling a home, it’s so important to find a Real Estate Agent you’re comfortable with, but also one who reallyknows Philadelphia. With that said, we’re quite fortunate to have Josalyn Aponte on our team leading the way. We sat down for a few minutes today to ask Josalyn five questions about real estate, dining out, travel and Philadelphia:
What were you doing before you got into real estate?
JA: Before I got into Real Estate I was a Respiratory Therapist for 4 years. And although people considered me “successful” because I had a stable career with good pay and a Bachelors Degree, I wasn’t completely satisfied. Although my passion is helping others, that wasn’t the way I wanted to do so, Real Estate was. So finally, I took the leap of FAITH and quit my career as a Respiratory Therapist and got into Real Estate. And every day is a new struggle, always a learning process, but I am fulfilling my passion, and this is the happiest I’ve ever been! And it is now that I feel truly successful.
What made you get into Real Estate?
JA: The field of Real Estate has always been a passion of mine. Growing up my mother and I would spend hours on end on the couch watching the HGTV channel of shows from flipping houses to property search and I would always say that would be ME one day. After realizing that I didn’t want to work to fulfill someone else’s dream, I decided to take a leap of faith on my dream. And here I am! 🙂
What’s your favorite restaurant?
JA: My favorite restaurant in the city is a Spanish restaurant in Olde City by name Amada. It’s a great spot to go on a date or with a group of friends with reasonable prices and great tasting food and drinks! 🙂
Where’s the coolest place you’ve ever traveled?
JA: The coolest place I have ever traveled to was Thailand! I went with a group of 6 friends and it was the most amazing experience I have ever encountered! During my two weeks there we did everything from Snorkeling with the sharks to bonfires on the beach. Being able to wake up and walk to the beautiful beach and have breakfast by the water followed by an hour massage on the beach every day had to have been my favorite part of the trip.
What’s the best part about Philly that most people overlook?
JA: Because this neighborhood isn’t necessarily in the heart of the city, people overlook Fishtown. It such a great neighborhood with so much to offer! With a variety of great places to eat such as Fette Sau, Jonny Brenda’s and Loco Pez, you cant go wrong with an evening in Fishtown. If you like to party, you should probably check out Barcade. 🙂
