Development Plans at Mt. Vernon and N. Broad St

The Old Wilkie Chevrolet Buick dealership on North Broad is set to be redeveloped by EB Realty Management Corporation. The plans include a $50 million mixed-use project that involves three of the city’s best chefs, Stephen Starr, Marc Vetri, and Joe Volpe.
The three restaurant owners will operate separate facilities in a building that will consist of 98 loft apartments.
Starr plans to operate a casual seafood restaurant called “Route 6” on the street level of the building. Route 6 will seat 150 people and feature clambakes, lobster rolls, corn on the cob and pie. It will even have an outdoor horseshoes pit.
Vetri is planning an Italian themed bar called Birreria inspired by his trips to Rome. He plans to have 50 to 70 different beers on tap.
Volpe’s ideas are for a catering hall that will be able to accommodate up to 700 guests and have an 8,000 square foot commissary.
The residential part of this project will be developed by Blumenfield and is expected to be complete by next fall.
