kw-chart-inc-de2-1024x616 Updated CB Preferred Chart to Include Keller WilliamsOur friends at Coldwell banker created this chart, but forgot to include Keller Williams.  We know are the new kid on the block, but with more than double the transactions than CB we can’t figure out how they missed us.  So we felt compelled to update the chart to include ourselves.

Sneaky sneaky on their part. Good stuff on yours Georgine! Those are pretty significant numbers. Interesting to see how old-world biz models like PFR’s and LNF’s are being hit by changes in the industry.

While we appreciate you taking the time to verify the numbers, rest assured we didn’t forget about Keller Williams. While we commend your office, Keller Williams CENTER CITY, on a very strong 2009, you are not comparing apples to apples. The chart we published was a comparison of the largest brokers in the delaware valley and how they preformed in 2009 vs. 2008. Your numbers represent all the Keller Williams offices in the area, combined. If we were to do an apples to apples comparison as you illustrate above, you would have to group all Coldwell Banker’s in the area. We did not do that because all CB’s in the area aren’t part of the same company. Just because we are part of the same CB system it doesn’t mean we’re the same company. Smiliarily, just becuase there are multiple companies that are part of the same KW franchise in the area, it deosn’t mean they are part of the same company. I have copied the disclaimer on our published chart below for verification purposes. Thanks for reading! Although I understand your point that our Market Center does not have the same DBA as, for instance, Coldwell Banker Preferred, we do feel it is an apples to apples comparison because every KW office is owned by multiple partners and agents in different locations and we function as a whole. It is the way our franchise is organized. For instance the Center City office has partners who are also partners at KW Mainline and KW Bluebell and those office have partner from different market centers as well. Moreover we work as a team in that there are weekly conference calls, daily classes and seminars, quarterly financial meetings, quarterly master mind sessions for any KW agent to attend regardless of where they hang their license and the list goes on and on. Furthermore, we are an open book company and each office posts their monthly costs, revenues, profit share and sales figures online. To just compare one of our offices is like just comparing one of your offices.

This culture and education is why we are growing so fast. We are 2nd in the entire Greater Philadelphia area for Units, Volume and Listings and growing. Keller Williams was built by agents for agents. Our philosophy is that when you treat agents as partners, not employees, and help them expand their business, not inhibit their growth, they prosper and so does the brokerage.

Nevertheless, it is understandable that a Coldwell Banker executive would not understand how Keller Williams functions. So I asked Peter LaBriola, our research specialist from KW Princeton to run Center City office numbers and compare it to Coldwell Banker Preferred and then do a straight comparison of KW to CB. I believe this may be more “apples to apples” for you, these charts our posted on our blog. Incidentally, Peter could not determine why Bucks County and New Castle County data was included in your chart because CB Preferred did minimal business in those counties, while both KW and Prudential did well over a 1000 transactions. You may want to check it out because it probably skewed your figures.
