Obama Backs Extending $8K Tax Credit & has Bi-partisan Support
White House spokesperson, Robert Gibbs, just confirmed that Obama backs extending the $8K tax credit for 1st time home buyers that is set to expire NEXT month. Growing bipartisan support in the Senate is happening as well, as evidenced on ABC’s “This Week.”
Many pundits believe that encouraging and helping people purchase homes and contribute to both the community and economy is key to the recovery. Interestingly, former Fed Chair, Alan Greenspan, who most economists believe crafted the ill-fated policies that caused this bubble and meltdown in the first place, is AGAINST the tax credit.
