There is a very nice article in today’s Inquirer that highlights the history of Keller Williams Realty’s new building at 1619 Walnut St.  Our building was in fact once home to KYW’s radio and television operations.  America’s first televised soap opera was performed here by comedian Ernie Kovacs.  The basement studio is where Mike Douglas honed his craft as a celebrity talk-show host on The Mike Douglas Show, helping to boost the careers of artists like Barbara Streisand, Aretha Franklin, and the Rolling Stones during the 60’s.  KYW was traded from NBC to CBS and they moved out of the building in 1972.
