LOL, personally I would have put the cheesesteak as number one. If I remember correctly, the name of my favorite place was Dalessandro's. I havent been there in a while but it truly leaves you wanting for more. A big fan of Philadelphia and I wholeheartedly recommend it among the best cities in the US.

I just wanted to respond to this article by saying that everything said here is true! I was born and raised in Philly and have lived here all of my life. In my opinion, I think that we have the best nightlife and restaurants in comparison to a lot of places I have visited. Not to mention that we are passionate and crazy about our sports teams, GO PHILLIES!
I also love the city's architecture and buildings including our skyscrapers and the Art Museum.
Not too many people know that Philadelphia is a great place to live and work. There is so much to do just in Center City alone and it seems like every time you turn around there is a great new restaurant or lounge opening up.
I have recently graduated from college and I received a job offer in Washington D.C. While I really don't want to move, I feel like I have no choice because it is difficult to find an entry-level position within my field of study. So, I traveled down to D.C. to check out the real estate and the area to get a feel for things just in case I decided to accept the offer. After visiting D.C. I was extremely disappointed in not only the housing options but the restaurants and overall design of the city. Of course you have the Washington Monument and the capitol, but I didn't see anything else that grabbed my attention. I am definately a city person and I love our Philadelphia Skyline, so seeing D.C. was disappointing to me. Also, I didn't like how the restaurants were set up and went from one extreme to the next. In Center City Philly, you have many upscale places to choose from such as the Stephen Starr restaurants, Public House and Alpha Lounge, that are beautiful on the inside, but are also reasonably priced. I like to be surrounded by young business professionals in an upscale but casual environment, and I did not find any restaurants/lounges in D.C. that fit this description.
The only complaint I can come up with about living in Philadelphia (Besides the crime rate in certain areas), is that I think we should lean towards being open 24 hours a day like in NY, especially in terms of transportation. Our subway system could use some improvements to have better access to center city, but other than that I absolutely LOVE Philly and don't want to move!
